Ho-hum

July 22nd, 2008

So I’ve been really busy doing everything and nothing. My summer’s almost gone, and I find myself throwing fits here and there because I don’t want to go back to school. Internet at home still sucks, so I haven’t done anything in literally months (sorry to the TTR people especially).

Mom’s floor is almost-almost done. There’s still about half of the kitchen left to be laid, but even after that’s done, there’s still about three weeks of little jobs to be done.  But at least we’ll be able to move most of the stuff back into the front two rooms. By the time school starts, I may even be able to sleep in my own bed. Oh, happy day.

Pleech.

…when I see x-rays of my cat’s blockage. And then get a $300 + bill.

Gotta love the little fur ball. Of course, after his multiple enemas, he will not, of course, love me.  But he’ll be able to poop, so I think it’s a fair trade.

Another trip around the sun complete

Yessiree, it’s that time of year again: the one, the only, the Lissie’s birthday. Only today is slightly more special since it’s my golden birthday. I’m going to celebrate by punching some more holes in my ears, consuming jumbo pina coladas and shopping at Torrid, the best plus size clothing store ever. Or at least the one I go to, the people rock. Then I get ice cream cake. What more can a girl ask for?

Cellphones still suck.

June 14th, 2008

So I was reading this article about cellphones and number ten blew me away. Did you know that in 2007, five of the top ten works of fiction in Japan were written on mobile phones? I didn’t.  Personally, I don’t see the appeal.  Of course, I still like to write a lot of things by hand. Something about the textile (textual, haha) sensation. But writing a novel on your phone? No thank you.

Apparently, in Japan, most of the authors were young women “sharing fictionalized aspects of their lives.”   Maybe cellphones are only good for chick lit.

Screw me twice over.

So iTunes finished its update and then informed me that I can’t utilize the new version without the Quicktime update. Which would take at least 50 minutes (I’m gestimating here based on how long iTunes took, and it was a smaller update), which is 22 minutes longer than my battery has.

That means I have to come back here on Satuday. Ew.

Oh, well. At least I don’t have to work. Guess it could be worse.
